SC lawyer Iftekha Ahmed for written apology

The High Court on November directed Supreme Court lawyer Iftekha Ahmed for apologising to it in black and while for his false arguments on behalf of Korban Ali, the main accused in a child amputation case.

A bench of the HC comprising Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain passed the order.

Earlier in the morning, when Iftekha Ahmed appearing the court sought apology in words, the court asked him to do so in written. At the same time, the court also rebuked him.

Iftekha had told the court that different organs of the child, Neyamul, were chopped off after it was confided at residence of Advocate Elina Khan, who brought the matter to the court, for four days and tortured.

Later, Elina Khan refuted and cleared the allegation against her, the court rebuked Iftekhar.

On Wednesday last, Officers-in-Charge and Investigation Officers (IOs) of Kamrangichar and Kadamtali police stations appeared before the HC in the case.
