2 more SC judges declare assets

Two more judges of the Supreme Court (SC) on June 14 submitted their wealth statements to chief justice Mozammel Hossain.

Justices Obaidul Hasan and M Enayetur Rahim of the High Court Division, who were regularised after successful completion of their two-year judicial service, submitted their wealth reports on Tuesday.


Secretary to the chief justice Kabir Ahmed told bdnews24.com that so far, 19 justices have submitted their wealth statements.

The then chief justice A B M Khairul Haque on Dec 30 submitted his wealth statement to president Zillur Rahman in a move expected to encourage other judges.

The chief justice at the meeting on Jan 3 urged all the judges of the Appellate Division and HC Division to submit their wealth statements to him for ensuring transparency in the judiciary.

Later, Appellate Division justices S K Sinha, Mohammad Iman Ali, High Court Division justices Khandaker Musa Khaled, Mainul Islam Chowdhury, Syed Mohammad Ziaul Karim, Mohammad Anwarul Haque, Justice Syed Abu Kawsar Mohammad Dabirushan, Shahidul Islam, A K M Fazlur Rahman, Sheikh Abdul Awal, Soumendra Sarker, S M Emdadul Haque, A F M Abdur Rahman, Hasan Foyez Siddique, Sheikh Rezwan Ali and International Crimes Tribunal chairman Mohammad Nizamul Haque submitted their wealth statements.
