Contempt of Courts Bill-2011 placed in JS

The Contempt of Courts Bill- 2011 was introduced in the Jatiya Sangsad Tuesday with a proposal for making provision of defining specifically the contempt of court, reports BSS.

Code of Conduct for the Judges

The Supreme Judicial Council headed by their Lordship the Chief Justice of Bangladesh Mr. Justice Latifur Rahman along with two senior most Judge of the Appellate Division Mr Justice Bimendu Bikash Roy Chowdhury (B.B Roy Chowdhury) and Mr. Justice AM Mahmudur Rahman formulated the current prevailing Code of Conduct of the Judges which was published on 7th day of May, 2000. Papers called to an HC bench; JS seat vacation hearing held up

Court proceeding on a petition ina vacation bench of the High Court Division remains suspended for about threeweeks because judges of a regular HC bench, which is closed during the ongoingvacation, have reportedly called the papers, according to sources.
