Writ filed to stop BSF killings at border

The bad-luck Bangladehi innocent girl Felani,
who was shot to death by BSF

A Writ petition was filed on Monday with the High Court seeking its direction upon the government to take effective measures to stop killings of Bangladeshi citizens in the Bangladesh-India border by the Indian force.

A Supreme Court lawyer, Advocate Tazul Islam, filed the petition after a Bangladeshi girl, Felani, was shot to death by BSF and hanged with ware-fancy at Fulbari border while she was crossing the border on January 7.

In the petition, the HC's direction was also sought upon the government to give proper compensation to the family of Felani.

Hearing on the matter is likely to be held at the HC bench comprising Justice Md Miftah Uddin Choudhury and Justice Jahangir Hossain on Sunday, said the lawyer.

In the petition, another direction of the HC was sought to form a commission that will investigate into the incident of Felani killing and submit its report to the court.

It was said in the petition that the government failed to protect lives of the citizens even to protest the Felani killing effectively in diplomatic manner.

The inaction of the government regarding the BSF killings is a violation of the Constitution and has questioned the sovereignty of the country, the petition stated.

  2. It's our fault as well. It's not like they came into our country and killed our people. These people were trying to cross their border illegally. India does this even at the Pakistani Border. Even Pakistani Army does it on their border there have been so many cases.

  7. I am an Indian and I feel sorry for this event. The facts of the ground situation need to be investigated. I feel if there were guilty soldiers on Indian side they should be procecuted. I can see economic desperatiion would have caused her to go over borber. Indians are not bad people and i hope that there is good faith effort on both sides that something like this never happens again.

  8. This is extra-judicial killing which is never desired and should never be welcome in any country in this world. Unfortunately, such killings are happening in every single country around the world with the exception of the Western developed countries.

In Somalia, Al-Shabab Islamic soldiers are brutally killing their own citizens. Iran, Saudi Arabia and many other countries are butchering their female citizens for absolutely no reason....

The bottom line is that entering a country without proper permission is illegal and there will be some actions. But killing like this is uncalled for.

Bangladeshi's cross to India for a living... yes let them come and work here but apart from working they come here...marry here... give birth to dozens of kids... build houses.... purchase property... upto here no one is bothered but they dont stop after that these SONS OF PIGS they start doing illegal things... like murder, robbery, loot, deals in sale of illegal arms, circulating FAKE CURRENCY notes...how can such things be forgotten..."jis thali main khate hai usi thali main ched karte hai saale suwar ke aulaad"

  10. I am an Indian. I feel such actions are highly inhuman. Such cases should be reported to bangladeshi government and those trespassors should be deported without physically harming them. India needs to learn civilized ways to tackle such cases.

  11. Since I have a close knowledge about the people especially Bangladeshi girls crossing from India to Bangladesh i can tell very briefly.. These innocent looking girls actually carry with them drugs from India to Bangladesh where they sell it and make good money out of it and in the border they are even ready to compromise with the BSF.. I won't tell that killing someone is what it should be done but these illegal things has to stopped so that these things don't repeat again and the BSF India would not be proven as murderers rather than protector.
