The High Court on Monday ordered the government to stop the publicity and advertisement of unauthorised housing projects.
A bench of justices A H M Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain on Monday asked the government to remove immediately all the installed billboards of such projects and stop their further promotions.
The order came following a petition filed by Bangladesh Environment Lawyers Association (BELA).
During the hearing, Iqbal Kabir argued for the petitioner while deputy attorney general Barrister A B M Altaf Hossain stood for the state.
The High Court on July 27 last year, upon another petition by BELA, ordered the government to remove the unauthorised billboards from the capital.bdnews24.com, Jan17
