Liberation War Documents: Stay on publishing by Bangla Academy

The High Court on January 16 issued a stay order asking Bangla Academy to refrain from publishing the 15th volume of the Liberation War document.

A bench, comprising justice A H M Shamsuddin Chowdhury and justice Seikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain, passed the order on Sunday following a writ petition by owner of Hakkani Publishers Golam Mostafa.

আরো এক বিচারপতি সম্পদের হিসাব দিলেন

সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আরো একজন বিচারপতি সম্পদের হিসাব জমা দিয়েছেন। হাইকোর্ট বিভাগের বিচারপতি এস এম এমদাদুল হক রোববার প্রধান বিচারপতি এবিএম খায়রুল হকের কাছে তার সম্পদের হিসাব জমা দেন।

Ban on JPC committee stayed

The High Court yesterday (Sunday) stayed an order of the lower court that directed the newly elected committee of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) to return its charges to the outgoing JPC committee.

Following the HC order, there was no legal bar now for the newly elected committee of JPC to discharge its functions, lawyers said.

SCBA chief slates CJ

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president has accused chief justice A B M Khairul Haque of 'destroying' the judiciary by carrying out activities 'beyond his jurisdiction'.

SCBA president Khandker Mahbub Hossain made the comment at a press conference in its meeting room on Sunday.
