bdnews24.com, Dhaka

The corruption case against LGRD State Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak will continue as the Appellate Division has stayed the High Court injunction over the case, defendant lawyers have said.
A three-member bench led by Chief Justice A B M Khairul Haque, gave the order on Tuesday upon a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

ACC counsel Abdul Aziz Khan told reporters after the court order, "Now there are no obstructions to run the case in the lower court."
ACC filed a corruption case against Nanak on March 23, 2008 with the Ramna Model police charging him of possessing illegal wealth worth Tk about 1.8 million.
The High Court on September 9, in the same year stayed the case procedures upon a Writ petition by Nanak's wife Syeda Anjuman Banu.
