The High Court on December 6 issued a rule upon the government and two owners of bus to explain why taking additional fare during Eid period should not be declared illegal.
The rule is returnable within two weeks.
A HC bench of Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain passed the rule upon a Writ petition filed by SC Advocate Gazi Mostaq Ahmed.
The court in another order also directed to form a committee and to submit a report on the matter within 20 days.
Secretary to Communicating Ministry, BRTA Chairman, Managing Director of Hanif Enterprise and Ara Paribahan Ltd are the respondents in the rule.
Advocate Gazi Mostaq Ahmed himself took part in the hearing on the matter.
